It was as surreal a moment as any supposable. Redemptorist priest Fr. Patricio Alfredo Sánchez Molinari, 53 years of age, was celebrating Mass in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in the city of southern Guayaquil, Ecuador on Oct. 17, when, after his sermon, the large crucifix on the back wall of the sanctuary above the tabernacle fell forward and killed the priest at the altar.
