Archbishop Alick Banda of Lusaka, Zambia, was charged with unlawfully obtaining a vehicle he possessed from 2021 to 2023.
“In this moment, we recall the Church’s teaching that every person is entitled to fairness, dignity, and due process,” the Zambia Conference of Catholic Bishops said in a statement. “We therefore call upon all concerned to ensure that these principles are upheld without prejudice or intimidation.”
