Archbishop Ronald Hicks of New York celebrated a memorial Mass in St. Patrick’s Cathedral on the evening of September 10 to mark the 25th anniversary of the September 11 attacks.
“Twenty-five years ago, on September 11, 2001, our nation suffered a wound unlike any we had ever experienced,” he preached. “If you are old enough to remember that day, chances are you remember exactly where you were.”
Archbishop Hicks concluded:
Healing takes time. Hope is eternal. And God who has carried us through the past twenty-five years continues to walk with us today, tomorrow, and always.
