As part of the retreat Colombia’s president-elect, Abelardo de la Espriella, and other members of his administration attended ahead of his Aug. 7, 2026, inauguration, each participant was given a copy of the Bible featuring a map of Colombia and the heart of Jesus on the cover.

Abelardo de la Espriella reaffirmed his conviction that ‘to build a great nation, one must place God at the center of every decision.’
