‘Care — not suicide’: Catholics and advocates push back as New York MAID law takes effect

The MAID legislation itself, which makes New York the 13th U.S. state along with the District of Columbia to authorize physician-assisted suicide, was signed into law by Gov. Kathy Hochul Feb. 6.
