Pope Leo XIV received Bishop Robert Barron of Winona-Rochester, Minnesota, in an October 1 audience.
“Friends, it was a delight to meet Pope Leo this morning for a joyful and productive conversation,” Bishop Barron said in a social media post. “He expressed his support and appreciation for the work of Word on Fire.”
“It was just a very comfortable conversation,” added Bishop Barron, who was in Rome to ordain 18 seminarians from the Pontifical North American College to the diaconate. “We covered a lot of different topics, but it was just delightful to be with him and, you know, to be with the successor of Peter and our spiritual father.”
