Pope Leo XIV Rejects Use of Death Penalty in Fight Against Organized Crime, Drug Trafficking

Pope Leo XIV called for respect for human dignity in the fight against organized crime and drug trafficking in an address to participants in a conference on the fight against drugs in the OSCE region, hosted by the Italian Parliament, during an encounter at the Vatican on May 15, 2026.
