Chicago archdiocese settles 9 abuse suits for $5.4M (Chicago Sun-Times)

The Archdiocese of Chicago reached a $5.4-million settlement with nine plaintiffs who allege they were abused by priests in the 1970s through 1990s.

“We have paid more than $400 million to survivors and continue to ask for survivors to come forward,” an archdiocesan official said. “They will be received with dignity and compassion.”
