Members of the commission that oversees the hospital founded by Padre Pio met with Pope Leo XIV in Castel Gandolfo on August 31.
Vatican News reported that “particular attention was given to an analysis of the Foundation’s economic and financial situation and to identifying the most appropriate solutions to ensure the long-term sustainability of its work,”
The Pontiff established the commission in May following a hunger strike by hospital employees.
