ASIA/KOREA – Appointment of auxiliary bishop of Suwon

Vatican City – The Holy Father has appointed the Reverend Germanus Kwak Jin-Sang, of the clergy of Suwon, Korea, until now parish priest of Seopangyo, as auxiliary bishop of the same diocese, assigning him the titular see of Forma.
Msgr. Germanus Kwak Jin-Sang was born on 20 December 1964 in Suwon. He obtained a licentiate in theology from Suwon Catholic University and a doctorate in systematic theology at the Institut Catholique de Paris.
He was ordained a priest on 2 February 1993 for the diocese of Suwon.
He has held the following offices: deputy parish priest of Jungang , deputy parish priest of Saint John in Bundang , deputy parish priest of the co-cathedral in Jowon-dong , parish priest of Beomgye , professor at Suwon Catholic University and the major seminary of Suwon , rector of the major seminary of Suwon and dean of the Catholic University , member of the diocesan College of Consultors and the diocesan Presbyteral Council , and since 2023, parish priest of Seopangyo.
