Daily Reading from the USCCB: Psalm 71:1-2, 3-4a, 5ab-6ab, 15, 17
Today, in the liturgy’s First Reading, we hear again of God’s ideal servant. He will be a light to the nations so that God’s salvation may reach to the ends of the earth.
The Responsorial Psalm presents God’s servant as a channel of song, bringing praise to God. “I will sing of your salvation.” God’s servant takes refuge in the Lord and finds safety in Him. God is a rock of refuge to this good servant–a stronghold that gives him safety, and that rescues him from the hand of the wicked. God is his hope. The servant will proclaim God’s wondrous deeds.
We are all servants of God. We are all invited to sing of His salvation. How do I sing of God’s salvation?
